Game Summary
The Dodgers and the Reds both had great teams this season, so it was appropriate that the last regular season game was between them, and decided who would go to the Mayors cup. Perfect weather and a LARGE and enthusiastic audience of parents, siblings, and other friends and relatives created a great setting for a great game.

The Reds started fast in the first, shutting the Dodgers down 1-2-3 behind Charles's great pitching (and some good defence) and then loading the bases for Eddie's three-run triple.

In the second, the Dodgers came back with a single by Joel, and then a slam by Jorden that went all the way to the fence - a stand-up 2 run homer. The Reds came right back with a one-run double by Charlie; Reds 4 Dodgers 2 at the end of the inning.

In the third, although both teams got runners on, with a single by Maddox, pitching and some good defence by both teams prevented any runs.

In the fourth, the Dodgers added one with a solo homer by Joel. and the Reds responded with one of their own, a single by Matty, who was brought home by an RBI single by Dejon. 5-3 Reds.

In the fifth, the Dodgers broke out with singles by Maddox, Dan, Jordan, and Mont, and a Grand Slam homer by Joel! The Reds came right back with a solo homer by Charlie and a double by Matty, but the score stood 8-6 Dodgers.

The game went the full distance, with the Dodgers adding some insurance with an RBI single from Joel and a 2 run double by Manny. The sharp Reds defence kept the game in range, making good plays on sharply hit balls by Maddox and Mont. But Maddox came in as the closer for the Dodgers, and after two Ks the game was ended by an exciting catcher-to-first play on a roller hit by Callie.

These were just the highlights! Several players had sharply hit balls turned into outs by good defence, and everyone on both teams contributed good at-bats; the pitching was uniformly good, and the defence was active. Both teams and their supporting fans showed great spirit. Best of luck to the Reds in the playoffs, and we will see how the Dodgers fare in the always tough Mayors cup next weekend!

Game Summary
A great game and both teams played extremely well!
Highlights:
Joel and Manny from the Dodgers turned a double play.
Xavier also threw out the would be tying run at the plate from the edge of center field. Daniel was ready to tag the runner at the plate.

Braves players made a triple play! Danial caught a line drive at second base and caught the runners at first and second bases. Great quick thinking!

Will hit a beautiful triple over the left fielders head.

Rockies led by Jahmaury (3 hits), Vincent (2hits) and single hits by Xavier, Ciara and Issei. Liam Anderson made the defense play of the game by catching a line drive at shortstop and then then throwing to 2nd to double off the runner to end a very serious scoring threat by the Cubs.

Cubs led by Ethan (2 hits) and single hits by Nathan, Zavi and McKenzie (who drove in 2 runs with a big single and first hit of the season!!)
