Wednesday, June 3rd
MINOR: Braves 7 - Reds 1
Pitch counts
Braves:
Lucas Berman - 75
Peter Jules - 52
Reds:
Marc Holland, Jr - 68
Tenzin Kalden - 74
Game Summary
Sometimes you need a break in routine in order to refocus your efforts. And with a rainout on Monday night, the Braves had that very important break in routine.
And the result was a game where the pitchers kept their pitches down, and mostly in the strike zone, recording 15 Ks.
A game where the Braves' batters were both patient and aggressive at the plate, with a single by Lucas, two singles by Peter, a double by Bryce, and a single by Will.
A game where the Braves' defense was usually in the right place at the right time, and held the Reds to few, if any extra bases.
And finally, it was a game where the Braves remembered how to work, how to play as a team and support and encourage each other.
The Reds were not without their strong effort, especially by Marc Holland and Tenzin Kalden, who both threw hard. In addition, Marc went 2 for 2 at the plate with a triple and RBI in the first, and a single in the fourth.
However in the end, it was the Braves coming together and playing as a team that helped them prevail. And with just 3 more regular season games left, the Braves have an opportunity to build on their effort. Because soon, the playoffs begin, and to play again tomorrow, you must win today.
