Game Highlights
| The Reds collected their first win of the season when they faced off against the Cubs. The Cubs jumped out to an early lead when Gregory Desrosiers hit an inside the park home run. Bill Preyts followed that up with a base hit and some significant hustle, taking advantage of two Reds throwing errors and making it all the way around the base paths. The Reds pitcher, Noah Epstein, then boar down and struck out 9 over 3 innings and allowing only 5 base runners (with hits by Jonathan Herrera and Alex Arlos, and a triple by Griffin Andres). Marco Marenco then took the mound for the Reds and struck out 6 over 3 innings. The other 3 outs were provided by Dean Douyan at first base catching 2 pop ups and tagging out a runner.
On offense the Reds bats came alive. The Leek brothers, Gideon and Simon, each collected hits, with Simon's being his first hit in the league. Gideon also drew a walk and both times he was on base he was driven home by triples provided by Marco Marenco (2/2 with 2 RBI's). Dean Douyan (2/2 w/ 1 RBI) drove in Marco from third with a double and collected another one along the way. Some pictures from this game below, |
